Volunteer Internship
The Internship for Nixor Hospital was one of the most exhilarating experiences I experienced in summer corporate. The first day was the scavenger hunt put together by hard working executives where the teams had to find clues and link them to figure out what their disease was. Acting as real detectives made our team figure out the correct disease which was chickenpox in record time thus day one left us feeling extremely accomplished.
The second day was the day for our presentation on the assigned disease which every team spent hours making to ensure it was perfect. The online session was handled expertly by the cooperating teams and executives. The third and final day was for the skit. We were informed to make a short skit inculcating the assigned disease with a famous TV show. Our show was the infamous “Friends.” Thus with extreme hard work, effort and commitment our team presented our skit. We managed to portray Monica’s practicality, Chandler and Phoebes humour as well as Joeys carelessness to near perfection.
The anticipation for the result left us on edge but it could not compare to the joy our team felt when the result was announced that we won. The experience was stimulating as it taught us how to cooperate with one another and allowed us to put our trust in the team leader who was extremely diligent. I will forever remember this experience as it introduced me to wonderful people that I can now call friends, gave me the thrill that came with the internships competitive nature and reminded me of the effort the executives had put in to make this a success for all the volunteers which I will always appreciate.
