I Will Walk With You

I Will Walk With You

Working as a volunteer for Nixor Hospital, I gained a sense of purpose. I met people who, with out saying a word, left an unforgettable impression in my mind.

I remember being stationed as a “runner” and my job was to take the patients from the waiting area, to the doctor’s office. There was a little boy waiting, with one of his siblings; he seemed very frightened and very tired. When his turn came, I helped him off of his chair and he grabbed my finger, not letting go until we reached the doctor’s office. His hand was so small, wrapped around my index finger. And with that one exchange, I felt so needed.
