Nixor Hospital “Made My Dream of Becoming A Doctor All Too Real”

Nixor Hospital “Made My Dream of Becoming A Doctor All Too Real”

My participation in Nixor hospital has taught me many things. Not only did I start creating an admiration for Nixor College, it helped me make friends and see the world with a new set of eyes. During the Summer Program of 2019, I visited several places with the Nixor hospital team, which really shed some light on how the other half lives.

My first camp was at Gambat, Sindh, where I was a crowd manager. Come to think of it, my job doesn’t even seem that important but it actually was pretty challenging considering I don’t speak Sindhi, however, the look on those people’s faces made the 9 hour drive totally worth it. The happiness plastered all over their faces just for receiving something as basic as medical help was just priceless. It made me actually remember how fortunate we are to be receiving all these amenities that should be basic human rights, but sadly they’re not. Being a part of Nixor Hospital really made me feel so important as I was a part of something so much bigger than all of us. The world needs all the help it can get and Nixor Hospital went a long way in order to help those in need.

Nixor hospital took me to many other places as well like Umarkot, some schools in Karachi and it also let me personally see the condition of burns patients at the Dow Burns Unit.

Honestly, by the end of the summer program I fell in love with Nixor hospital and it really made my dream of being a doctor all too real. I hope to work with Nixor Hospital in the future and everyone should get the opportunity to firsthand learn and become a part of the Nixor Hospital Family. “Our People, Our Responsibility”
